Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also explored Italy's cuisine and its culture as well as the landscape. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable experience for me. It was impossible to take enough out of it. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy Burrell developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. It will have a significant impact on how Burrell cooks. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children who are facing difficulties. She also serves as a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she is an advocate for children with diabetes and awareness. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours across the nation to mentor others in her job.
