Emily Irene VanCamp was originally looking to become a dancer. However, after going to Katie's studio for the show Ladies Room, she became more attracted to acting. She began to take acting classes, and also landed roles as a guest on a TV show in her native Canada. She's appeared on a variety of programs, including Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career when he was cast as the an actor in the role of Sam Dolan on the WB Horror Mystery show Glory Days. Though the show garnered positive critiques, it's poor ratings led to it being ended after nine short episodes. The actress, born on May 12, 1986, was quickly offered an additional role on Everwood. The role she played was Amy Abbott. She was a finalist for the award for four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
